Experimental Grinding Machine "Retch Mixer Mill MM500"

A new model, MM500, has been added to the mixer mill, which is compact in size and widely used for sample preparation of small quantities.

The new design of the grinding jar (container) and the adoption of an upgraded drive have improved airtightness and grinding capability, enabling ultra-fine grinding (<0.1 μm) comparable to a planetary ball mill, grinding under gas atmosphere, and long durations for mechanical alloying (MA) and mechanochemical processes. Additionally, the jar capacity has increased to a maximum of 125ml. It also supports freeze grinding, which has gained attention in recent years. 【Features】 ■ The series' maximum grinding power of 35Hz (2100rpm) ■ A new design grinding jar with excellent airtightness suitable for dry grinding, wet grinding, freeze grinding, and grinding under gas atmosphere (pressure resistant up to 5bar) ■ Grinding jar capacities of 50ml, 80ml, and 125ml; two jars can be set simultaneously ■ Suitable for long-duration grinding: ideal for applications in reaction systems such as mechanochemistry ■ Remote operation via smartphone or tablet using the new RETSCH App (sold separately)

Ball Mill "Mixer Mill MM500" *New Product

The processing capacity has increased by about three times, greatly improving work efficiency! It features the best crushing power in the series and supports cryogenic grinding!

The "Mixer Mill MM500" is a tabletop ball mill that features a larger grinding container compared to conventional models, enhancing its grinding power. It boasts a maximum grinding frequency of 35Hz (2100rpm), enabling ultra-fine grinding comparable to a planetary ball mill, as well as versatile applications such as grinding under gas atmospheres and cryogenic grinding. With the increased container capacity, samples that previously required multiple processing runs can now be handled in a single operation, making sample extraction and checking much easier. 【Features】 - Grinding containers available in three sizes: 50ml, 80ml, and 125ml. Simultaneous use of two containers is also possible. - Supports long grinding times of up to 99 hours, suitable for reaction system applications. - Equipped with a sequence function that allows for the combination of registered conditions during operation. - Remote operation is possible via the RETSCH App (sold separately) using a smartphone or tablet. *For detailed specifications, please refer to the documentation. Experimental Grinding Machine 'Retsch Mixer Mill MM 500 VARIO'

Simultaneous grinding of multiple samples + grinding power of up to 35 Hz in the series.

The MM 500 Vario has been added, specializing in the grinding of trace and small samples, capable of fine grinding in just a few seconds to a few minutes. This model, which has six jar holders, can set and process up to six Retsch grinding jars simultaneously. The grinding jars used are the screw cap type with excellent sealing, which are also employed in the existing model MM400 (1.5ml to 50ml). Materials can be selected to match the characteristics of the samples, including hardened steel, stainless steel, tungsten carbide, agate, zirconium oxide, and PTFE. In addition to dry grinding, it also supports wet grinding and cryogenic grinding using liquid nitrogen, allowing for the grinding of various samples with different properties, from soft to hard materials, thus enabling efficient sample preparation. Furthermore, only one ball is required for standard grinding, making sample recovery and cleaning easy, while also avoiding cross-contamination. For homogenization of biological samples and cell disruption using beads, there is a dedicated adapter that can be loaded with disposable tubes (0.2mL to 5mL). It can simultaneously grind up to 50 samples.
